Who I am

When my youngest child was diagnosed at age 7 with type 1 diabetes, I was initially overcome with tremendous sadness and self blame. After all, it was my genetics that contributed to his condition. Thoughts of my childhood flooded my brain: the rollercoaster ride of highs and lows, being different from my peers… fearing I would die. I was naturally afraid for my son.

After the iniial shock, I soon realized that my son’s diabetes wasn’t mine. He was born in an age of tremendous advances in diabetes care. He had another thing going for him. He had me. Not just the doting father who would move mountains to see that he was cared for. He had an encyclopedia of diabetic dos and don’ts in me!

I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with other parents of diabetic children. Unlock the door to a world of learning and adventure by booking your appointment today!
